Eva Solo – Designer Garden Gifts

Eva Solo from Denmark has developed an international reputations for its cutting edge designer gifts and homeware.  Many of their designs have won awards.  The Eva Solo Bird Feeder for example, won the IF Design Award 2007 and was a nominee for Designpreis 2008 – Germany whilst the rain gauge won the Barden-Wurrtember, Int. Design Award 2004.

Eva Solo’s parent company,  Eva Denmark A/S, is a design and manufacturing company which was founded in 1913.    Eva Solo was launched by its parent with the aim of creating a youthful and innovative brand combining functionality with appearance.  The brand’s core values are simplicity, innovation, beauty and usability.

The Eva Solo range of products is designed by Henrik Holbaek and Claus Jensen of the two-main Danish design studio Tools Design.  Many of the collection use simple materials such as chrome, glass and black plastic to blend form and function in affordable and unique ways.

A good example of the use of these materials is the Rain Gauge  which has a moulded glass container sitting in a plastic holder on a stainless steel pole.  Its functionality is demonstrated by its ease of assembly, the simplicity of taking rainfall readings and the frost-proof and dishwasher-proof glass.
